La Porte High School bowler named to All-American team

La Porte High School incoming senior Aiden Ryan has been named to the prestigious Dexter High School All-American Team in recognition of her accomplishments on the lanes and in the classroom during the 2025-26 school year.
Ryan is one of just 10 high school bowlers nationwide selected for the honor, which recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in bowling, academics, leadership and community service.
To be considered for the team, applicants were required to maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and submit a resume highlighting their bowling and academic achievements, along with an essay. Candidates also provided letters of recommendation from their coaches or athletic directors and at least one additional recommender.
As a Dexter High School All-American, Ryan will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
A former nationally ranked softball player, Ryan transitioned her competitive drive to bowling and has quickly emerged as one of Texas' top youth bowlers. During the 2025-26 season, she won the district girls bowling championship, finished as the regional runner-up and placed 11th at the Texas High School Bowling Club State Championships.
Ryan also captured three SATX Youth Bowlers Tour event titles, won the Greater Houston USBC Girls Division championship and qualified for the Junior Gold Championships for the second consecutive year.
In addition to her athletic success, Ryan maintains a 3.6 GPA, is an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and volunteers with the youth program at Armadilla Lanes.
As the only female member of La Porte High School's varsity bowling team, Ryan hopes to inspire more young women to pursue bowling and discover the opportunities the sport provides.
