Rising Tide: La Porte Water Polo claims 14 All-District spots, Coach of the Year

In only its fourth year as a UIL-sanctioned program, 14 La Porte High School students have been named to the 10-6A All-District Water Polo Teams, including three district superlatives.
Head Coach Joseph Stewart has also earned Girls District Coach of the Year honors for the first time in his young career as a water polo coach.
"I'm incredibly proud of our athletes who received postseason honors this year," Stewart said. “Their recognition is a direct result of the countless hours they put in ... a relentless dedication to both their individual growth and the success of the team. It's been a privilege to coach such hardworking and committed players."
Both the boys and girls teams this season posted winning records of 8-7 and 10-5, respectively, while combining for six single game records, nine single season records and six career records.
