Library Services in La Porte ISD
In accordance with Board Policy EFB (Local), La Porte ISD libraries offer a range of diverse materials designed to support student achievement while accommodating various levels of difficulty, interests, and perspectives. As dynamic and collaborative learning environments, these libraries provide equitable access to information and resources for the entire school community. "Library materials" encompass both print and digital resources, including online catalogs and supplemental items. The development of the library collection is overseen by trained librarians and staff and is conducted in compliance with state laws, district policies, and established standards. This process ensures that the materials effectively meet the needs of all users while adhering to the criteria set forth in EFB (LOCAL) policy.

- Present multiple viewpoints related to controversial issues.
- Provide a wide range of background information that will enable students to make intelligent decisions in their daily lives.
- Include Accurate and authentic factual content from authoritative sources.
- Have a high degree of potential user appeal and interest.
- Offer global perspective that promotes equity of access, including print and nonprint materials such as electronic and multimedia, to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Represent diverse viewpoints and culture appropriate to each campus to ensure the collection embodies the unique background of its student populate.
