Exciting news about STAAR - A Message from Dr. Jackson

Greetings, La Porte ISD stakeholders. Today is a great day to be a Bulldog! 

We're thrilled to share some incredible updates about the outstanding achievements happening right here in La Porte Independent School District. Our students, teachers, and staff have been hard at work, and their dedication is truly paying off! 

Elementary Excellence 
We're bursting with pride as all La Porte ISD elementary schools have not only met but exceeded both state and regional standards in math and reading. Our young learners continue to shine brightly, showcasing their incredible potential and the unwavering commitment of our educators. 

Junior High Success 
Our junior high schools have truly impressed us by performing at or above the state level on nearly every STAAR exam. This is a testament to the remarkable effort put in by our students and the exceptional guidance provided by our dedicated faculty. We're proud of our junior high achievers! 

High School Triumphs 
And let's talk about our high schools! They've raised the bar by meeting and exceeding both state and regional expectations on End of Course exams. Biology, U.S. History, English I, and English II have all seen remarkable achievements. Our students are proving that they're more than ready to conquer challenges and excel in their studies. 

These achievements are a result of a collaborative effort, a community that supports and uplifts, and students who are determined to excel. We're committed to providing the best possible education for our students, and these results are a testament to our collective dedication. Our teachers and other instructional staff members were laser-focused on student success on the STAAR, and we are pleased with many of the outcomes. We see several bright spots as well as areas for growth, and we will continue to work toward excellence in all areas. 

The STAAR 2023 scores, which play a significant role in determining school and district ratings by the State, are facing heightened scrutiny this year. This increased attention is a result of recent test modifications and comments from the TEA, shedding light on the intricate nature of the state's accountability system and the impact it has on STAAR scores. 

Thank you, La Porte community, for your ongoing support, and congratulations to all the students, teachers, and staff members who have made these accomplishments possible. Our future is bright, and together, we'll continue building a legacy of excellence!
