Realignment is initially tentative, as schools may appeal their assignments. Districts are finalized on February 21, after all possible appeals are heard.

UIL realignments and reclassifications take place every other year and are in effect for two school years. This means La Porte will be a member of 11-5A and 20-5A at least through the 2025-26 school year.

The UIL in December released statewide reclassification numbers, which resulted in La Porte’s classification as a 5A school. The classifications are based on UIL Snapshot Day enrollment figures, which was October 27, 2023.
