La Porte High School’s track and field program will be well represented at the UIL Regional Track & Field Meet on April 29-30.
Nine Lady Bulldogs and three Bulldogs runners finished in the top four of their respective events at the 2022 Area Track Meet on April 21. Overall, the Lady Bulldogs were runners up in the team standings.
Naomi Green, Kaylee Mericle and Aryssa Rodriguez brought home individual gold medals for four combined events. Green won the Area Championship for the 3200-meter and 1600-meter run; Rodriguez was tops in the 100-meter hurdles; Mericle won the gold in the discus competition. Brady Axtel brought home Area gold for the boys’ 1600-meter run.

Carolina Rodriguez is the Lady Bulldogs head coach, Jaime Arizpe is head coach of the Bulldogs. The Region III-5A Track & Field Meet will be held at George Turner Stadium in Humble.
