Austin Escobar, a 2021 La Porte High School graduate, has signed a national letter of intent to continue his education and track career at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO.
As a La Porte Bulldog, Escobar was a captain of the varsity track and field team.
“He was a key contributor to the 4x100 relay, area qualifying-4x200m relay, and he excelled in the 200-meter dash,” said Jaime Arizpe, boys head track and field coach.
Escobar will be a sprinter for the Vikings, Arizpe said.
Missouri Valley competes in the NAIA Heart of America Athletic Conference, and the program featured one All-American and two national championship qualifiers during the 2021 spring track season.
