Realignment is initially tentative, as schools may appeal their assignments. Districts are finalized on February 26, after all possible appeals are heard.

UIL realignments and reclassifications take place every other year and are in effect for two school years. This means La Porte will be a member of 9-5A and 22-5A at least through the 2021-22 school year.

La Porte has been a member of district 21-6A since the 2019-20 school year.

The UIL in December released statewide reclassification numbers, which resulted in La Porte’s reclassification as a 5A school. The classifications are based on UIL Snapshot Day enrollment figures, which was October 25, 2019.

The remaining athletic district alignments will be released no later than March 16, according to the UIL, with academic alignments to follow.
