Adam Holland

Five administrative positions will feature some new faces as of July 1, including two that are new to La Porte ISD.

  

Tracy Greenwood, Lomax Elementary principal 

Tracy Greenwood

Greenwood most recently served in the role of assistant principal at College Park Elementary. She has 27 years of experience in education. Of the 27 years, she has chosen to serve 19 years of her career in La Porte ISD. She has served in various roles in her educational career, including elementary classroom teacher, reading/dyslexia specialist, interventionist, and elementary assistant principal. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and her master’s degree from Lamar University. 

 

 

Jennifer Barker, Heritage Elementary assistant principal/ECC director 

Jennifer Barker

Barker most recently served La Porte ISD as a classroom teacher at College Park Elementary. She has 10 years of experience in education. Of her 10 years, she has chosen to serve seven years of her career at College Park Elementary in La Porte ISD. She completed her administrative internship under the direction of Ms. Camilla Whitlock, Principal of College Park Elementary. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. 

 

 

Eva Galvan, College Park Elementary assistant principal 

Eva Galvan

Galvan most recently served as a dual language teacher in Galena Park ISD. In Galena Park, she participated in the Aspiring Administrators’ Academy and served as the Robotics/STEM Club Coordinator and the UIL Academic Decathlon Coordinator at her campus. She has four years of experience in education. Prior to beginning her teaching career, Ms. Galvan served as an English I/II Instructor in Upward Bound Math and Science at San Jacinto College and worked in the human resources field. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Baylor University and her master’s degree from the University of Houston. 

 

 

Monica Martinez, La Porte High School assistant principal 

Monica Martinez

Martinez most recently served as the La Porte ISD behavior coordinator in the Special Programs Department. Prior to this role, Ms. Martinez served as a behavior specialist, special education department leader, behavior support teacher, and resource teacher. Prior to becoming a teacher, Ms. Martinez served as a paraprofessional-PASS and inclusion aide, counselor’s secretary, principal’s secretary, and PEIMS data entry clerk. She has 21 years of experience in education; 20 of those years she has chosen to serve in La Porte ISD. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and her master’s degree from Lamar University. 

 


Paula Jackson, director of human resources 

Paula Jackson

Jackson most recently served as the principal of Hardin Elementary in Hardin ISD. Prior to this role, she served as the academic dean at Barbers Hill Middle School, assistant principal at Barbers Hill High School and classroom teacher in Barbers Hill ISD. Additionally, she served as an elementary classroom teacher in both Crosby and Goose Creek ISD. She has 26 years of experience in education. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston and a master’s degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. 

 

 

 

Linda Hyde, La Porte Elementary School principal

Linda Hyde

Hyde attended La Porte ISD from kindergarten through high school and has worked as an educator in the district for the entirety of her 24-year public school career. She most recently served as Heritage Elementary School assistant principal, and La Porte ISD Early Childhood Center director, and has previously served in various instructional roles, including as a classroom teacher, enrichment specialist, and curriculum/media specialist. She was honored as the Jennie Reid Elementary School Teacher of the Year in 2001. She earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Houston Clear Lake and holds a master’s in educational leadership from Lamar University.
