Adam J. Holland

The La Porte ISD Board of Trustees on April 3 unanimously approved the hiring of four administrators, including three at the district level. 

 

 

Billye Trader, Executive Director of Special Programs 

Ms. Trader currently serves in the role of assistant director of Secondary Special Education in Clear Creek ISD. She has served in education for 21 years, including 10 years of teaching experience and 11 years as an administrator. Prior to her service in Clear Creek ISD, she served as the special education/504 coordinator, assistant principal, and instructional specialist in Texas City ISD. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Ms. Trader will take the reins from Ms. Cyndi Anderson, who is retiring. 

Paula Jackson, Executive Director of Secondary Education 

Ms. Jackson has served as the director of human resources in our district for the past two years and is a valued member of our Human Resources team. In her current role, she assists with recruiting, hiring and training new and current teachers and staff. She collaborates daily with our campus administrators and departments. Prior to joining the La Porte Family, Ms. Jackson served as the principal of Hardin Elementary in Hardin ISD. She served as the academic dean at Barbers Hill Middle School, assistant principal at Barbers Hill High School and classroom teacher in Barbers Hill ISD. Additionally, she served as an elementary classroom teacher in both Crosby and Goose Creek CISD. She has 28 years of experience in education. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Houston and master’s degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Ms. Jackson will succeed Ms. Danette Tilley, who is retiring at the end of this school year. 

Ralph Wilkins, Director of School Nutrition 

Mr. Wilkins has served as the La Porte ISD coordinator of school nutrition for the past seven years. Prior to this role, Mr. Wilkins served as the nutrition supervisor and dietitian in Texas City ISD. He also served the community in the nutrition departments of Memorial Hermann Southeast and Texas Children’s Hospital. Additionally, he was a contract paralegal for eight years and a United States Army paralegal for four years. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Houston, master’s degree in finance and business administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Master of Science in school nutrition from Texas Woman’s University. He is registered nationally and in Texas as a Licensed Dietitian. Mr. Wilkins will take over for Yvonne Bennett, who is retiring at the end of the school year. 

Ms. Hannah Brooks, Associate Principal, La Porte High School

Ms. Brooks currently serves the Dean of Instruction at Hallsville High School in Hallsville ISD. Prior to this role, she served as the assistant principal at Pine Tree Junior High in Pine Tree ISD. Additionally, she has served as a STEM teacher, math teacher and elementary teacher. Ms. Brooks earned her bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University and her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction specializing in mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has 14 years of service in education.
