Mission Statement :

To support the educational process by providing wholesome and nutritious meals to students and staff while operating under a balanced budget. La Porte ISD School Nutrition complies with all federal, state and local guidelines regarding the School Meals programs. The School Nutrition Department is self supporting and does not use any local property tax money. All money is generated from student sales, adult sales, federal reimbursement, state funds and catering. Our operation pays for salaries, employee benefits, equipment, groceries, a portion of the district utilities and armored services. We rely heavily on USDA commodities to subsidize our meals and do our best to provide the best quality meals for just pennies. We serve approximately 1500 reimbursable breakfasts and 4000 reimbursable lunches per day. Menus are approved by a registered dietitian and planned according to strict federal and state guidelines. These guidelines ensure we are following the recommended RDA. The menus are analyzed for nutritional content using a nutrition software program. We are providing kid friendly foods that are lower in fat, salt and sugar. We believe that the staff, students and faculty of LaPorte ISD are OUR CUSTOMERS!! We dedicate ourselves every day to provide the best service and meal possible! We appreciate your business!
