More than 480 La Porte High School seniors earn diplomas

Senior Class President Mason Peres had the honor of welcoming the packed stadium crowd to the annual commencement exercises, while salutatorian Emma Grace Staes and Valedictorian Waleed Khalid Chatta delivered addresses to their classmates. Senior class vice president Maci Pfeiffer delivered the closing remarks.

Thirty-five graduates also earned their associate degree from San Jacinto College through La Porte ISD’s Accelerated College Education (ACE) program. The Class of 2019 was the third group of students to complete the program.

At the end of the ceremony, the La Porte High School Band, senior class officers and senior choir members led the graduates, staff and community in singing the LPHS alma mater.
