Remote Server Configuration in Dreamweaver
La Porte ISD web site authors should configure their copy of Dreamweaver to save (upload) their files on the web server using the WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) protocol. Switching to this protocol for uploading files will enable web authors with laptops to update their pages from home.

To configure (or reconfigure) Dreamweaver to use WebDAV, get to the Manage Sites dialog box (Sites -> Manage Sites) and select the site that holds your web pages.
Click on the Edit button.

These directions assume you are using the "Basic" tab at the top of the dialog box, rather than the "Advanced" tab. Click "Next" to advance through the dialog boxes until you reach the Site Definition box for "Sharing Files." It will be highlighted in white in the dark blue bar underneath the title.
Use the pull-down box under "How do you connect to your remote server?" to select Web-DAV and then click on the "Settings... " button.
In the URL box of the WebDAV Connection dialog, type the address to your web site on the district web server. The address needs to be followed by a
colon and the port number 9001. If you don't know the address to your web site, see your campus ACES or contact the Web Applications Department (Heidi Miller, Alan Ward, or Chuck Davis).
For "Username:" enter your LPISD username preceded by lpisd\ . For example, if your name was Tim Berners-Lee, you would enter "lpisd\berners-leet" . Enter your password and email address. If you're the only one that uses this computer, check the box for "Save Password" .
Click the "OK" Button to save your new settings.
If you're still having trouble connecting to your LPISD web site, contact your campus ACES or Heidi Miller, Alan Ward, or Chuck Davis.
