Medicaid Administrative Claiming:
A unique revenue opportunity
for Texas schools

A partnership between La Porte Independent School District and Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group

WHAT IS THE MEDICAID ADMINISTRATIVE CLAIMING PROGRAM?

The Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) Program is a new area of Medicaid funding that represents a sizable revenue source for your school district. The MAC Program provides reimbursement for outreach activities that are being performed every day in your school district. These activities include efforts to locate, identify, and refer children who might be at risk of poor school performance outcomes due to physical or mental health needs.

The MAC Program is not a replacement or substitute for existing fee-for-service programs such as the School Health and Related Services Program (SHARS). Rather, it is a companion program that allows your district to receive additional revenue with no offsetting accounts.

WHY JOIN THE LA PORTE ISD STATEWIDE MEDICAID ADMINISTRATIVE CLAIMING CONSORTIUM?

La Porte ISD, in partnership with Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group, has taken the leadership to offer all Texas school districts the opportunity to participate in the Medicaid Administrative Claiming Program.

REVENUE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL DISTRICTS...

The La Porte MAC Consortium allows districts of all sizes, demographics, and resources to participate and receive reimbursement under the MAC Program. The Consortium is comprised of more than 200 member school districts in Texas that represent over one million students. Member school districts represent all geographic regions of the state and range in size from less than 100 students to over 50,000 students. It is the largest consortium of districts that participates in the MAC Program in Texas.

MINIMAL RESOURCES NEEDED FOR PARTICIPATION...

As a member of the Consortium, your district will receive reimbursement with minimal resources or risk. The size of the Consortium minimizes the work required to participate in this program. In addition, Deloitte Consulting will provide all of the training, materials, expertise, and ongoing support to ensure successful claim filing while using only limited district resources. There will be no payment or obligation to Deloitte Consulting for these services until the firm generates Medicaid reimbursements for your district.

CLAIMS PROCESSING ENHANCEMENTS...

Deloitte Consulting is committed to ensuring that member districts of the La Porte MAC Consortium receive the most robust claims possible. As a member of the Consortium, your district will receive one-on-one attention designed to maximize the MAC reimbursement due your district.
