New Teachers to the Profession

La Porte Independent School District (LPISD) believes supporting new teachers to the profession is an integral component of our mission statement "Every child is our #1 priority". Without high-quality preparation, including access to pedagogical skills of veteran teachers, new teachers may struggle when they bridge theory, from their training experience, to practice, in the classroom. Professional development for new teachers is a high priority in LPISD.

Administration, campus mentor, and a district instructional specialist provide support and mentoring for new teachers at various levels. Examples of support in LPISD include, but are not limited to:

District Instructional Support and Professional Development

La Porte Independent School District (LPISD) has a strong commitment to the professional development of teachers. Effectively improving instruction is an important factor in our mission statement "Every child is our #1 priority". We want all teachers to work with colleagues to improve schools and advance knowledge and practice in their field. Consequently, we have a variety of levels of professional development to meet the needs of our teachers both individually and as a group.
