Connecting Laptop to Dial-up Internet

Open your network connection settings folder (it may not look exactly like this) and go to File down to New Connection. The new connection wizard will open. |

Click Next button |

Select top option and click Next button. |

Select middle option and click Next button. |

Select top option and click Next button. |

Name the connection and click Next button. |

Enter local dial-up number and click Next button. |

You now have the option of selecting which users (logged into your computer) may use the dial-up service that you are creating. Click Next button. |

Enter username and password to dial-up service. Choose to provide this information for all users and uncheck the bottom two options. Click Next button. |

Check this box to put an icon on the desktop and click Finish. You are done. |

Connect a analog phone line (the ones at LPISD are digital) and hit the Dial button and you will connect to your service if you have entered the information correctly. |
You will have to configure an email application to obtain email from your service if you cannot read it through a web-based interface.
