The mission of the La Porte Education Foundation is to enhance education by funding innovative, creative instructional projects for student and teachers in La Porte Schools

The La Porte Education Foundation was established in 1993 to provide an avenue of enhancing and augmenting educational opportunities for students and teachers in La Porte. The community believes there is a strong correlation between the quality of life in La Porte and the quality of its education system. This philosophy is important to the youth of La Porte and equally important to the economic growth of La Porte.

The citizenry recognizes that the quality of education can be upgraded if supplementary funds beyond the general school district funds were available to support innovative, creative instructional projects for students. Through the Foundation's endowment, a perpetual source of additional funds will be available for this purpose.

The business community and citizenry provide assistance in fund raising and in reviewing applications for grants to teachers and students and scholarships.

Since the incorporation of the Foundation, there has been emphasis on creating a permanent endowment so the interest earned will fund all programs and activities. Included in this plan are the Foundation's organization and membership, the mission and goals of each committee, and a five-year financial plan.
